TDAP – Thoracodorsal Artery Perforator Flap

Pedicled flaps (those that remain attached to their original blood supply) from the back donor site traditionally involved harvest of the latissimus dorsi muscle. As techniques have evolved, the soft tissue of the back can frequently be transferred without disturbing the latissimus dorsi muscle as a TDAP flap. The TDAP flap can be used to reconstruct a partial mastectomy defect or enhance an implant-based reconstruction.
